During the MS school, on a 15 minute break, we were discussing the talk on college. A few of the MS's flat out said that their job situation would be better if they went to college and that they wish they went.

A Concerned Elder Speaks
by Franklin Massey ina lot of talk has centered around information dispensed at the recent km schools.
many brothers feel there is a "tightening up" taking place.
i had a recent experience that you may find interesting.. after the meeting i was working with our cobe on some congregation tasks when out of nowhere he said, "have you looked up any extra information about higher education since the km school?

I realized that I didn't state this properly on my last post..... You always see ads in the DC arenas. How about one that everyone will see for 3 days runnning? No commentary, just a picture. You can use the 1984 generation awake.I am partial to the one below.
I say we try it not worry about whether it will be effective or not. (This cover really made an impact on my waking up. )We can have a trusted member of the JWN collect the contributions and arrange with an arena. A plus would be to have someone on site to gauge reactions.
One thing. Maybe underneath it we add a quote from the July 2009 Awake on not having to choose between "a way of worship and your family."

by cantleave ini have just recieved a call from emma, she has been in-undated with emails and has pointed out that as she simply a presenter for bbc radio somerset, a local station, please only email her only if you live in south west england.. her editor has seen the magnitude of the response and realises that this could a big story and looking at escalating to a national level, so the point has been made.. also she wanted to point out that she is only the presenter and the interview and research was undertaken by tammy macallister and she deserves the credit.. it's great to see the exjw community spring into action, but please respect emma's in box!.

The GB really do not want us to think for ourselves Mar 15th WT
by life is to short ini know that some of you might think that i really should be reading the wt but with a husband still in and being that i am still very tied to the religion though him i want to know what is up with them in some ways.. the march 15th wt made me feel sick.
on page 5 it was talking about how we need to wait on jehovah.
it was really the same old stuff but i feel with a different twist.

It's true, once you realize its a cult, it is shocking. I slept walk thru this past Sunday's WT waiting and waiting til it ends. Suddenly on paragraph 15(?), the question is "What must you do not to be destroyed?" Really this a religion of love and not fear?
And they're scared of you thinking for yourself. Our CO once said that those who left the org "think they are happy". But we know they are not....Does that even make sense?

Someone was hiding the book... but it wasn't me!
by JimmyPage inmy wife recently brought home another "bible stories" book for our child to read.
i noticed though it was if someone was trying to hide it... other books would be piled on top of it.
then my child admitted to being the one who was hiding it.

before I woke up. The new children's book with its scary armageddon pictures in the back bothered me. I didn't think it was appropriate to market something like this to kids.

Toyota and Southwest Airlines are placing ads here
by Red Piller ini've been lurking for a while.
i used to see ads from companies that sold niche products.
to see these common consumer names says (to me) that the traffic here is picking up to a point where big corporations take notice.. maybe a groundswell building in the wt?.

I'm an optimist, what can I say.

Introduction
by dontplaceliterature inbefore i begin my introductory post, i would like to mention that a number of my initial comments here may be viewed by several of you as watchtower apologist or as sympathetic to the views of the jehovahs witnesses.
the last thing i want to do is incite a flame war regarding my legitimacy or intentions in joining this forum.
mostly, i would describe myself as on the fence.

Farkel! Hey words hurt, you know.....
No, seriously, I know you care. Nobody on this forum would post here if they didn't care.
So, yes, I was humming the "wouldn't it be nice" Beach Boys song. So what? I mean, wouldn't it be nice?
Either way, I'm not saying to be passive and wait around. I am saying that sometimes you need to take inventory and move carefully and with purpose to navigate out of these waters. I am doing just that.

Some observations from the KM Elder School I wanted to share with you.
by miseryloveselders inmy school was a couple weeks back, and it was interesting to a degree.
to be honest with you, it reminded me of a police crime scene investigation with yellow tape.
what i mean is, in one respect it was business as usual.

More AGM News- spiritual matters (with paragraphs this time!)- disregard other epic fail post!!!!
by yknot ini always find it interesting how emails vary in perception.
two more 'snippets' have arrived and i am posting them for forum consumption (this is still technically 'spiritual food') and discussion.as with the last thread, the original author and those they emailed are not responsible!
i was like 4th/5th on the chain of these emails and none knew of my intent to reiterate the contents here in cyberspace.

I just finished attending the MS one day school. One talk stated that the "necessary family business" clause is a "concession from the slave." They 'know that it is sometimes impossible not to need to talk to family members about certain matters. But brothers are we stretching that into giving us an excuse...etc...?'
The term "concession from the slave" stuck out in my mind. So double-speak Orwellian. We have a slave. Yet, he gives us concessions. Shouldn't it be the other way around?
